About Erika

I have been thoroughly enjoying the good fortune of living in Colorado for over 30 years now. The day after graduating from Daniel Webster College (a private aviation college), I packed my things and was on the road to Aspen in search of adventure. With aerobatic flying and several business degrees in hand, I decided to create a lifestyle that would allow me to pursue my dreams of traveling extensively. I’ve been fortunate enough to have explored over 60 countries, climbed Kilimanjaro, trekked to the Everest and Annapurna Base Camps, and experienced many other unforgettable adventures. Learning new skills and experiencing new cultures, countries, and people is my greatest passion.

In Breckenridge, I rejuvenate by trail running (I have done the Pikes Peak Ascent many times), road biking (I have done The Triple ByPass [the road bike ride, not the surgery!]), backcountry skiing, hut trips, and hiking with close friends including my rescued dog, Karma (as in “good Karma”). Karma and I served as a therapy dog team and did volunteer work at the Frisco hospital. I also enjoy attending local NRO concerts in the summertime and of course would not miss an opportunity to see a favorite band play at Red Rocks.

I moved to Breckenridge in 2005 for many reasons, foremost being to continue my Real Estate career that I started in Arizona. The convenient access to all the outdoor activities that mean so much to me, being back in the mountains, and the convenient proximity to Denver for travel and the occasional cultural fix helped cinch the decision.

I was raised with and retain a very strong work ethic and dedication to my profession and my word. This provides a constant drive to serve my clients at the very highest level. I earned my GRI (Graduate of Real Estate Institute) in 2007, my CNE (Certified Negotiating Expert) in 2010, my SFR (Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource) in 2012, my SRS (Sellers Representative Specialist) in 2015, my ABR (Accredited Buyer’s Representative) in 2016, and most importantly, my CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) in 2010. The CRS designation is one of the most coveted and difficult real estate certifications to achieve. Less than 4% of all brokers possess this designation, as it requires not only an investment of several thousand dollars in classes, but more importantly requires that the broker meet strict minimum sales requirements within a limited time period. Many Realtors do not even come close to selling this volume: I am proud to have attained it during a recession.

I believe it is my tenacious commitment to my clients that sets me apart from other agents and brokers. Long after the transaction is complete, I maintain close relationships with my clients and offer my services in any way I can. This regularly takes the form of providing names of reliable contractors, local recommendations for events and activities, receiving packages for out of town clients at my office, or checking on the property during cold spells: I am always happy to help. My ingenuity in approaching closing challenges from new and different angles has made the difference between acquiring/selling a home and walking away with nothing but frustration for numerous clients, especially during these tumultuous times.

I invite you to Breckenridge for a little escape from the pace of the city, some great coffee, and a tour of some of the remarkable real estate opportunities presented by the dramatic changes that have occurred in the market during the past three years. And that is just the beginning! Let my experience work for you!

Sincerely,

Erika B. Schmidt
